Iran, the repository of medicinal plants of the world Iran is a vast country with four seasons and with a high ranking in terms of plant richness and biodiversity, it has 11 climates out of 13 known in the world. According to the opinion of botanists and researchers, the number of plant species in Iran is about 8000 species, which is at least twice as much as the European continent in terms of species diversity. Research shows that more than 2,300 species of Iranian plants have medicinal, aromatic, spice, and cosmetic properties; In addition, 1728 species of these plants are indigenous to Iran, which grow exclusively in this land and are considered as an exclusive capacity in Iran. Currently, Iran owns 70% of the world's production of roses and 90% of the world's saffron. It is the second largest producer of this valuable product after India. Among other important medicinal plants in Iran, we can mention plants such as licorice, thyme, lemongrass, chamomile, asfarzah, yarrow, marshmallow, hyssop, salvia officinalis, ketira, excitementh, sophare, mord, ziziphus spina christi, turpentine, borago oxtongue flower, passiflora cearulea, ferula gumosa, muscari comosum, henna, oak manna and marigolds were mentioned. Statistics have shown that the volume of world trade in medicinal plants has increased from 60 billion dollars in 1996 to 100 billion dollars in 2010. According to the forecast of the World Bank, in 2050, the global turnover and trade based on medicinal plants and herbal medicines will reach about 5000 billion dollars
