Introduction to Oleaster Tree
Oleaster Tree is a standing or spreading shrub that reaches a height of 1-4 meters. It has prickly, unevenly shaped branches with red or white flowers and produces spherical or oval-shaped fruits.
Geographical Distribution:
Oleaster is found in Iran, mostly the forested areas ,Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iraq, Turkmenistan, North Africa, and Southwest Asia.
Active Ingredients:
The fruit of Oleaster contains a combination of ascorbic acid and hydroascorbic acid, which are forms of vitamin C. It also contains vitamins A1, B1, B2, B3, and K.
Therapeutic Properties and Effects:
In Iranian traditional medicine, Oleaster fruit is highly valued. For example, the following properties are attributed to Oleaster fruit extract:
Strengthening the heart and nerves, calming and relieving fatigue
Relieving symptoms of vitamin C deficiency
Treating kidney swelling
Relieving stomach pain and diarrhea
Expelling gallstones
Treating insomnia
